At Myakka
Florida, GA, SC Home again! I loved being with everyone and enjoying some time together. I hope it won´t be so long before we come again or see you in Girona. Big hugs and Thank you to everyone who put us up!
David and Jaume at Tallulah Gorge, GA
It´s been a year and a half since we´ve been back to the US and so this November we took advantage of the slow cycling month in Girona and came to see friends and family. First stop, Philadelphia. We went to old favorite places and got to see good friends though not for long enough! Spanish night at Breakaway Bikes, we had a nice presentation with Joe. It was raining like crazy but we still had a nice group. Got to hang out with my friend Wally and Alec and stay with Bruce out in Pottstown. It was so nice to see everyone! Next time we hope to come longer:)

Pyrenean Break
This past week we spent a few days getting more familiar with the area in the Pyrenees where our group in September will be starting their tour. Trying out on the bike and in the tummy the areas we´ll go through. The pastry shops in France were a definate draw to my tummy!
Couldn´t you just imagine sailing down that road on a bike.
Over the border in France they use a bit of Catalan as well.
Puigcerdà, the town where the group will be staying.

La Devesa Market
We got up this Saturday morning to visit the Devesa Market. We bought a lot of yummy things like: mint, plums, pears, cheese and salted cod and brought the camera along to take in all the colors.

Endurance Cycling Tour
The end of June brought this incredible group of cyclists from Mill Valley, CA. They were the fastest group yet to follow and they ate all the healthiest food like fruit on offer in the van and left all the chocolate! I guess that´s a difference between East and West Coast or maybe that it was in the high 80´s most of the week. They were great athletes and super nice. Here are some photos of the week.

We got the special pleasure of having Sally and Mimi come to visit during the Flower Festival in Girona. We got to do tons of things and didn´t even let the changing Spring weather slow us down. We loved having you here! Fins Aviat!

Palamos and Aïguamolls
We had a few days of chilly weather but we made the most of it. In Palamos we had lunch on a boat with Jaume and then Sally, Mimi, and I spent the afternoon at Aiguamolls de l´Empordà.

Kim and Alex
We headed out to Cap de Creus to visit Dali´s house in Port Lligat, a nice walk and lunch in Cadaques, then made a stop at Espelt Winery on the way home.
Meanwhile Tom, Kim´s husband, was off on a grueling coastal ride with Jaume.
Alex is studying in Madrid and is quite the photographer - I´m hoping he´ll send me some of his pictures;)He came up and met his parents from Indianapolis, who hadn´t seen him in months. They also got to see the Good Friday Easter parade in Girona and Easter mass in the Cathedral. Thank you so much for your visit! Hasta la proxima:)

La Vall d´en Bas
We heard the roads were clear so we headed out to the country to check out a rural hotel for a tour in September and enjoy the snow. This is Mas Garganta a beautiful ¨mas¨ or ¨masia¨ or country farm house that dates back to 1300 or so. The woman who showed us around was named Ines and that property had been in her family back as many generations as there are records. If you want to look at more pictures of the house, look at www.masgarganta.com
The day after
The snowfall allowed us to get out and get a different perspective on the little city we live in.

Snow in Girona!
This past Monday, March 8th we were pleasantly surprised by the biggest snowstorm in Girona in the past 30 years. We´ve had a pretty cold Winter here and so it is nice when there is at least snow and cold instead of just cold. Jaume and I went for a chilly walk on the wall to enjoy the views. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
